DRAGALIÓ
Dragalió was born as a result of a procession of the Drac de Mataró with the Víbria de Poblenou. It was presented in the form of a giant egg on Sant Jordi's day of 2007, from which the little Dragalió would emerge on July 25th of that same year. Dragalió is a fire figure of reduced dimensions carried by only one person. The design and construction are by Xevi Ribas.
The Dragalió Gang is made up of 15 carriers (between 10 and 16 years old) and 15 musicians (between 8 and 16 years old), all equipped with a sayo with hood, black trousers, and green sash.
The first Dragalió's own dance was composed by Michael Weiss. The current one is the work of Joan Cot and Matias Lizana.
The figure always moves to the sound of the percussion of tabals and the dance evolves with a succession of different rhythms and steps that end with a series of turns on itself, which end at the exact moment when the pyrotechnics explodes.
